FTS H2O Attends IDRA Reykjavik Summit on Water & Climate Change
October 14, 2025
FTS H2O President Keith Lampi presented at the IDRA Reykjavik Summit, highlighting the company’s latest advancements in membrane brine concentration and crystallization technologies. The presentation showcased FTS H2O’s pioneering work with low-salt-rejection RO and OARO membrane processes, including successful pilot testing at NEOM’s Water Innovation Center in Duba, Saudi Arabia. Results demonstrated the ability to concentrate seawater brines to more than 160,000 mg/L TDS today, with pathways to exceed 200,000 mg/L, while maintaining energy-efficient operation. The session also featured FTS H2O’s innovative Membrane Brine Crystallizer (MBC), which combines forward osmosis and membrane-based crystallization to produce high-purity salt with significantly lower energy requirements than conventional thermal technologies. The work reflects FTS H2O’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable brine valorization, resource recovery, and minimal liquid discharge solutions for desalination and industrial water applications.
