Forward Osmosis (FO)

Forward Osmosis (FO) is a low-energy membrane technology that uses the natural process of osmosis to separate water from dissolved solids. Instead of relying on high hydraulic pressure like Reverse Osmosis (RO), FO uses differences in osmotic pressure to draw water across a semi-permeable membrane, making it an efficient and sustainable solution for water concentration and recovery. Forward Osmosis is particularly effective for treating challenging wastewater streams with fouling risk and high levels of organic contamination.
