FTS H2O Director of Products Umang Yagnik delivered the presentation “Concentrate as a Resource, Not a Liability: Field Lessons and Membrane Advances in Osmotically Assisted RO (OARO) for High-Recovery Brine Management” at the Texas Desal Association 2026 Annual Conference. The presentation explored innovative approaches to concentrate management, highlighting how Osmotically Assisted Reverse Osmosis (OARO) and other advanced membrane technologies can help desalination facilities increase water recovery, reduce concentrate volumes, and unlock additional value from brine streams. Drawing on field experience and commercial project lessons, the session examined advancements in membrane performance, process optimization, and high-recovery system design that support more sustainable concentrate management strategies. Attendees gained insight into emerging opportunities for concentrate valorization, resource recovery, and seawater desalination applications, underscoring FTS H2O’s commitment to transforming concentrate from a disposal challenge into a valuable resource.
