Albany, OR – Sept. 7, 2021 – FTS H2O proudly announced the completion of start-up and commissioning of a membrane-based brine concentration system featuring its OsmoARO™ branded osmotically assisted reverse osmosis (OARO) technology. Standard Lithium’s El Dorado, Arkansas SiFT lithium carbonate plant is home to the new system.
The FTS system integrates with the Standard Lithium plant, dubbed the first US lithium project in over five decades, between the direct lithium extraction process and the lithium carbonate crystallization process. The OsmoARO system can concentrate lithium chloride (LiCl) brine by 10X prior to the lithium carbonate conversion, at a maximum of 80 bar pressure, saving energy and reducing the plant’s overall carbon footprint.
